San Francisco VS San Diego

Cons - very low rate of pay for California cost of living, lack of high paying jobs, slower job market, prevalence of an "apathetic surf culture" where people seem content to just "live life" rather than take an interest in intellectual or worldly affairs. Better for artists, actors, musicians, filmmakers?

I knew San Francisco would be cooler weather-wise with potentially more sights, culture, and food, but I had honestly assumed that San Diego would be more like a beach vacation, which now seems incorrect. Better job market, maybe better pay?

Not exactly a very "urban" city. I currently live in San Diego and for the most part I like it I guess. But higher rate of pay and better jobs and more jobs. Both have a range of stores catering for all tastes, but we think that maybe the Mexican influence and quirkiness of San Diego gives this city a slight edge.

Traffic just as bad. I had originally thought it would be much more "beachy", but that seems wrong now, but I am sure there must still be tons to do in the area.Cost of Living Comparison between San Diego, California and San Francisco, California, including food, housing, transportation, and more.
